Maggie Makes Four!

This journal started off documenting the adoption of our youngest daughter. It now follows the twist and turns of our lives as we raise these two amazing little creatures into the best women they can become.

Update from the Homefront

Maggie's Mom and Dad called today and were totally exhausted from their trip to Maggie's orphanage. They got lots of information on Maggie and were finally able to see her walk!!
On the food and water front, Mom and Dad have decided that she is just plain Stubborn. She eats and drinks not a moment before she is ready and likes to be on the go. Apparently today she really enjoyed seeing her old home, and overall had a really good day!! Dad is still not very popular, but his status as an evil doer is improving daily.

They will be posting tomorrow with more news from China, but for now we can check into La Nina.

Yesterday and today, she asked to speak to Maggie on the phone. It is really sweet to hear her put the phone to her ear and say, "Hi Maggie, I'm your sister, Carly!". She also tells Maggie she loves her and will see her soon. Maggie for her part cries, but Carly can hear her and she smiles. I think La Nina is as ready as she can be to meet her new sister.

Everyday she receives a gift from Mom and Dad and is getting more and more insistent on them. Before we do anything else when we get home after school we have to open the gift and take another rung off her paper chain. I try to get her to do that first, since each rung has a note from Mom and Dad. She listens dutifully then runs off to open her gift. The paper chain has a rung for everyday Mom and Dad are away and when the rungs are gone they come home. Last night at dinner she told me her chain is getting shorter, so Mom and Dad will be home soon.
She is also asking for her dog, Pete. For those of you who don't know Pete, he is a pretty active dog, so Auntie and Tio had Mom and Dad take him to the kennel. Auntie and Tio have told her he is with Mom, Dad and Maggie in China, but I think she is getting suspicious!!

She loves telling Auntie about Maggie and how she will play with her when she gets home! She also told me today that Maggie was crying. On the phone she said "Don't cry Maggie!" I think she is going to be a great big sister. (Just like her Mom)

More news later! Hope all is well with you and yours!

Hasta Luego!!
