The To-Do List Grows Shorter
It is so good to see the pre-trip 'To-Do' list slowly start to evaporate. There is still much to do before we leave, but those items are getting more and more task oriented, less and less project oriented.
It is funny how a deadline motivates you to wrap up all those loose ends. Today, I mailed something I should have sent 5 months ago. Part of the delay was Maggie's Dad, part was mine. Completing this task had nothing to do with the trip...just something I wanted to do. It is nice to have it complete. Having so much time to prepare for travel was painful, but now has made the last several days calmer than last time.
I am also much mellower packing. I remember last time the list from the agency said take 20 outfits and by golly, I packed 20 outfits for La Nina. And let me tell you that was a neatly folded, color coded, size appropriate, 20 outfits. This time, eh...I have enough for a couple of weeks. I might have to do some laundry. If Maggie is smaller than I am expecting, I might have some shopping to do. But I know she will be fine. She really needs a family and that is what we have to offer. The clothes are just fun for Mom.
In a few short days we will have to get on a plane and then the list is done either way. I am guessing when we get home there will be a whole new list of things to do.
